The most innovative soccer training facility in North America—RWJBarnabas Health Red Bulls Performance Center—opened in April.
As part of its commitment to building a healthier New Jersey, RWJBarnabas Health (RWJBH) has partnered with Red Bull New York, one of Major League Soccer's 30 clubs, to bring a world-class training center to the state.
Set on more than 80 acres in Morris Township, RWJBarnabas Health Red Bulls Performance Center boasts eight full training pitches (both natural grass and turf), including five heated for year-round play and several equipped with high-tech camera systems that can track players from multiple angles to assist with coaching.
The 88,400-square-foot main building includes an elite gym, an athlete wellness lab, academic spaces for academy players, an innovation lab, dining facilities tailored to athlete nutrition and more.
The center will support Red Bull New York's long-term growth by centralizing all levels of the organization—youth programs through pros. "This facility brings our entire pathway together, from academy to first team, and creates an environment where players can train, develop and compete at the highest level," says Marc de Grandpré, president and general manager, Red Bull New York.
"What began as a shared vision," says Mark E. Manigan, president and CEO, RWJBarnabas Health, "is now a world-class facility that will support elite athlete performance, advance innovation in sports health and serve as a source of pride for our community."
RWJBH will serve as the official healthcare provider for the club and its affiliated teams and youth programs. As part of that commitment, the organization will connect with Red Bulls Youth Programs to educate young athletes about nutrition and healthy lifestyle.
